The objectives

Give the participants a 3-day complete English immersion experience
Give the participants a sense of responsibility and value of work through the organisation and realisation of fund-raising activities

The 2018 trip program

The students will be leaving Québec on Tuesday April 3, 2017 around 9 p.m. This year's trip includes a day in Toronto as well as a day in Niagara Falls on April 4 and 5. They will travel back to Québec on Friday, April 6 to arrive late in the evening. This year's detailed program, as planned by Omnitour, is available below. Please note that changes can occur since the booking of all activities is not fully completed.

The price 2018

This year's trip should cost $469. This cost may vary a bit following the complete reservation of all activities. We also have to take into consideration the financial support from Club Richelieu, which allows to subtract $52 to the cost of each participant. These expenses are not to be covered by the parents.

A part of the sum will be collected through the organisation of three (3) fundraising activities.
Details about each activity are provided in the section below.

The remaining amount will have to be collected by each participant through their personal initiative,
which can be anything from helping around the house, to babysitting, to making things and selling them or starting their own online business!
The idea will have to be approved by the selection committee.

The fundraising activities 2018

BOOK FAIR: Friday November 17, 2017
In collaboration with La Maison Anglaise, books will be displayed in the school's cafeteria.
Kids will have the opportunity to take a look at different books as parents meet the homeroom teachers
to receive the first report card. After the meeting, parents and their children will have a chance to
order books. The orders will be delivered directly at ESJB in the next weeks.
20% of the profits made will help to finance a part of the trip of each participant.

FAMILY TRAINING AT PAIR-FORME: February 4, 2018
The participants and their guests will have a great time in this fun one-hour outdoor training session
at Pair-Forme. The participants will collect funds by asking relatives, neighbours
and friends to sponsor each minute of the hour. Better than selling chocolate, it encourages
healthy habits!

SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER: February 22 , 2018
Live music, entertainment, great food and fun by the ton! This event will take place
in the gymnasium of ESJB. The whole family and friends are invited!
The entire profits will be divided equally among all participants.

PERSONAL INITIATIVES
Each participant has to finance himself/herself the rest of the required amount.
See the previous section for more details.

The selection criteria 2018

A maximum of 48 students will take part of the trip this year. A selection will have to be made. To make it easier and clearer, we have developed this selection form. From the first week of school, students were informed of the values of the trip and of all the selection criteria. This document was also presented in class to the students in September and to their parents during the informative meeting held on September 14, 2017.

The first step of the selection process is filming the motivation video. This will be done entirely at school, at the same time for all interested students. All students will receive the questions 3 days before the filming. The filming of the motivation video will be done on October 20. The questionnaire will be distributed on October 17.

The students will be informed of the details in class and the different steps of the process will be posted on the Home Page of this website.
